Thomas Kinkade's Paintings
Yesterday when I was in my pastor's house, his daughter (who is my good friend) showed me Thomas Kinkade's painting. I'm speechless. his paintings really captures the beauty of God's creation, and all the beautiful colors He paints on the sky. His works are painted with traditional medium....and his recent works are the Disney paintings. amazing. beautiful!

Ralph Eggleston visit AAU
Yesterday, Animation department got a visit from Ralph Eggleston, the Production Design of PIXAR :D (http://www.pixartalk.com/pixarians/ralph-eggleston/). It was so fun & useful! he gaves us lots of information about working as Visual Development artist. Here are some notes that I wrote down from the presentation:
What is the differences between LIVE ACTION & CGI Feature Film?
- no "shooting"script
- storyreels
- nothing is free
- design process lasts entire length of production
- we have to design our actors!
When we CREATING A WORLD, Keep This in Mind:
- BELIEVEABILITY
- CARICATURE
- APPEAL
(we have to deal with these when we design)
Environment Design:
- Design an environment that fits into the character,
- Think about How Long it takes for the character to get there
Create a Strong Visual Information that would be remembered by the viewer.
Remember: "Understand what the lead artist wants to do, so that I can expand my design!"

Getting ready for bunch of great stuff
fuuh, I feel released. Today I met with Sherie Sinclair to show her my work progress throughout semester, and she gave me positive respond, Thank God :D. I was kind of nervous because I feel there is no enough works I can show, but the result showed the opposite :). so now I feel encouraged!
Now I have to prepare for my midpoint review, digital artist awards competition, church...it's gonna be Fun, but busy!! O God, give me strength to finish everything strong :D.
Colossians 3:23 "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men"
Philippians 4:13 "I can do everything through him who gives me strength".

I did this drawing for a friend of mine, Olivia. We were watching StarTrek Premiere together, and she laughed when she saw Captain Spark because of his short hair bang... it reminds her of her hair cut before. Since she asked me to draw for her, then I used that idea of Captain Spark for this drawing.
